The Area

The Old School House is set in rural Suffolk, surrounded by wonderful views and historic towns and villages. There is as much or as little to do as you wish, explore medieval streets and architecture in Bury St Edmunds including a visit to the last remaining regency theatre. Visit Long Melford, Clare, Lavenham and Sudbury, walk or cycle through picturesque parks, woodland and meadows. Walk to the pub, eat and drink at award winning restaurants and shop at independent boutiques and leading high street stores. Have a tour of the famous Green King brewery and visit historic Newmarket, the birthplace and global centre of thoroughbred horse racing and while you are there visit the National Heritage Racing museum.

 Walks: Ickworth Park, Kentwell Hall, and walk to our local pub The Queens Head

 Wildlife: The Old School House is surrounded by its own source of wildlife and nature look out for deer, muntjack, barn owl’s, red kites, buzzard’s, fox’s , badgers and a wealth of song birds. We have provided binoculars to assist your spotting.
